Armstrong vs. Kalshi: CLARITY Act Odds Clash on Senate Vote
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong is optimistic about the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act's chances of passing in the Senate, saying he expects more than 60 votes in mid-September.
Kalshi traders, however, have priced the bill's chances at just 22%, highlighting a significant gap between Armstrong's optimism and prediction-market pricing.
The CLARITY Act aims to establish a broader regulatory framework for crypto and address questions of regulatory jurisdiction. The bill would give the CFTC exclusive jurisdiction over spot markets for digital commodities, while both the CFTC and SEC have at times claimed jurisdiction over certain crypto markets.
