Assam Man Arrested for ₹1,071 Crore Cybercrime with China Links

A 25-year-old man from Assam has been arrested by Gujarat CID in connection with 1,090 cybercrimes worth ₹1,071.5 crore.

The arrest came after a three-day-long reconnaissance operation in Barpeta city, where police found the accused, Rafiqul Alam, along with electronic devices.

According to investigators, Alam allegedly helped transfer tainted proceeds from digital arrest and other cyber fraud cases through bank accounts across the country before converting portions into cryptocurrency.
