ASST Stock Sees Gains Amid Bitcoin Holdings, but Analyst Warns of Risk
Strive Inc.'s (ASST) stock has seen significant gains in recent months, with shares up more than 7.5% at close on Thursday and continuing to climb higher. The company posted a strong quarterly print earlier this month and continued to shore up its Bitcoin (BTC) reserves amid the rising price.
The stock is on track to post its best monthly gains since May 2025, but not everyone is convinced of Strive's strategy. Parker Lewis, Head of Business Development at Zaprite, warned in a post on X that 'Sell the stock, buy Bitcoin' due to the 'hurdle rate' for Strive being 'literally the equivalent of holding bitcoin.'
Strive CEO Matt Cole pushed back against this criticism, stating that 'Bitcoin is our hurdle rate.' He pointed out how ASST stock has outperformed BTC since announcing its strategy in May 2025. Lewis responded to Cole's defense by saying that he suffers from 'Saylor Derangement Syndrome,' a satirical term used to describe excessive skepticism of Michael Saylor and his Bitcoin strategy.
Strive recently revealed it had purchased 1,110 BTC at an average price of $73,409 per BTC, bringing its total holdings to 21,356 BTC. This accounts for about $81.5 million worth of fresh purchases.
