Aster Poised to Gain if US Perp DEX Rules Extend Beyond Hyperliquid
The U.S. government's efforts to bring Hyperliquid into compliance may have far-reaching implications for other decentralized perpetual exchange (perp DEX) platforms.
President Trump mentioned Hyperliquid in a statement on August 19, saying the CFTC is working to bring it into the U.S. 'in a fully compliant and legal fashion.'
Hyperliquid's token, HYPE, surged by over 25% following this announcement.
However, Binance founder Changpeng 'CZ' Zhao pointed out that policy cannot apply to just one company or project, implying that U.S. rules for perp DEXs would cover the entire category, not just Hyperliquid.
Aster, a rival platform backed by CZ and boasting strong trading volume, is seen as a key beneficiary if regulatory clarity extends across the sector.
