Aster Surges on Buyback, Burn, and Bullish Narrative
Aster's price surged by 5% in recent hours following a buyback and burn update from the team. The announcement highlighted several million ASTER tokens being bought back and burned, as well as attractive staking APYs of around 7 percent for 26-week locks and over 40 percent for maximum 208-week locks.
The on-chain tokenomics move was quickly amplified by media and trading accounts, which framed ASTER as a high-yield, deflationary DEX play. A large transfer of 15 million ASTER from a Binance cold wallet to an unknown wallet was interpreted as potential institutional liquidity provision, reinforcing bullish sentiment.
The combination of signals reduced effective circulating supply by destroying tokens, demonstrated real protocol fees being used to support token value via buybacks, and advertised high staking yields that can attract new demand and reduce selling pressure from existing holders.
