About $110.7 million of the losses remain frozen or disputed, with thousands of users exposed due to manipulated lending protocols. Phishing scams also cost victims $41.5 million, highlighting ongoing personal security risks in crypto ecosystems.
The August tally marks a significant increase from previous months, with incident counts climbing throughout 2026. Price manipulation drove most of the losses, accounting for $131.6 million, while code vulnerabilities and wallet compromise also contributed to the total.
