August Crypto PNL Report: Longs Dominate as Bitcoin Leads the Charge
The August crypto PNL report from SunCrypto reveals a mixed bag of results for traders in the month. On the surface, it appears that August was a step back compared to July, with a lower monthly ROI and win rate. However, digging deeper shows that almost all of the return came in the second half of the month, and most of it from one side of the book.
The report notes that longs did 97% of the work this month, with sixty-five longs returning +879.46% at a 62.50% win rate. In contrast, shorts returned only +28.12% at a 52.38% win rate. The month was decided after August 16th, with trades from the first half producing +35.47% and those from the second half producing +872.11%.
The best single trade of the month was a BTC/USDT long on August 24th at +77.80%, taken at 20x leverage. Bitcoin itself appeared three times in the top ten, all as longs, marking a departure from its disappointing returns in previous months.
