August Looms as Bitcoin's Worst Month: Historical Data Warns of Correction
Bitcoin's recent surge to $65,000 has been impressive, but historical data warns of an impending correction. According to CryptoRank and CoinGlass statistics, August is typically a treacherous month for Bitcoin, with deep red closures in every comparable period of the global four-year macroeconomic cycle.
In 2014, 2018, and 2022, Bitcoin declined by 17.55%, 9.27%, and 13.88% respectively during August. The average decline stands at 13.6%. Although the overall average return across all years appears positive at 1.12%, the market median is unforgiving at -7.49%.
The technical picture also suggests a potential correction, with Bitcoin's daily chart showing that July's rebound ran out of momentum directly at strong resistance in the $65,000, $65,500 zone. Friday's candle closed down 1.43%, pushing the price toward $63,773.
