Augustus Secures $180M in Series B Funding at $1B Valuation
Augustus has secured $180 million in Series B funding at a valuation of $1 billion, led by Tiger Global and featuring participation from Hummingbird, QED, and founders associated with companies including Nubank, Ramp, Circle, and Deel.
The company is positioning itself as a regulated clearing-bank layer for international financial institutions seeking access to U.S. dollars, traditional payment networks, and stablecoin-based settlement.
Augustus has received preliminary conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) for its U.S. national bank charter, but final approval is still pending the completion of pre-opening requirements.
The company's infrastructure supports operating and FBO accounts, named virtual accounts, transactions through SWIFT, ACH, SEPA, and stablecoins, and an API-first operating model supported by the Marble core banking platform.
