Aurora Enables International Payments for Japan's Vibrant Pop Culture Industry
A Japanese company called Japan Bitcoin Industry Co., Ltd. has launched a new payment platform called Aurora at the Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong.
The platform allows international clients to use Bitcoin for payments through the Lightning Network, while providing Japanese businesses with simple sales points (POS) and API layers for managing invoices, tracking payments, and integration.
Aurora's core design principle is that JBI does not touch funds; each business runs its own self-managed Lightning Network node to directly receive client Bitcoin, providing a clearer regulatory foundation for merchants.
The platform draws on the experience of UseBitcoin.jp, JBI's existing consumer business that has allowed clients to use the Lightning Network to purchase digital gift cards from companies like au PAY, V-Preca, and Kyash over the past two years.
