AUSTRAC Shuts Down Cryptolink Crypto ATMs Amid Compliance Concerns

Australia's AUSTRAC has suspended Cryptolink's 96 cryptocurrency ATMs due to ongoing concerns about anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing risks.

The regulator cited continuing AML/CTF concerns, stating that Cryptolink failed to meet basic reporting obligations and submit required reports or respond to an information request.

Cryptolink was given the opportunity to comply but could not meet its obligations despite an earlier enforceable undertaking, AUSTRAC CEO Brendan Thomas said.
