Ava Labs CBO Calls Crypto a 'Teenage Pubescent Phase'
Ava Labs' Chief Business Officer John Nahas has likened the current state of crypto to a 'teenage pubescent phase', marked by token prices down and market volatility, but also full of opportunity. Speaking at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2026, Nahas said that despite the short-term fluctuations, he's seen more genuine opportunities than ever before.
The comments came as Bitcoin traded above $77,000, up over 8% in 24 hours, and Ether above $2,390, with a 4% gain on the same day. Nahas drew a distinction between Ava Labs' strategy and the broader industry's focus on hype-driven price cycles.
Ava Labs has been working towards real-world use cases, including enterprise payments, government adoption, digital identity, and World Cup ticketing. Nahas pointed to these concrete use cases as evidence that the market is starting to catch up with Avalanche's focus.
The company also confirmed a leadership change, with Charley Cooper taking over as President from John Wu, who will become Senior Adviser after seven years in the role.
