Avalanche Blockchain Chosen for Kenya's Massive Academic Record Transfer

Kenya's National Examinations Council (KNEC) is taking a major step towards modernizing its certificate verification process by transferring 15 million academic records onto the Avalanche blockchain.

The council, responsible for administering national exams and issuing certificates, has long struggled with verifying credentials, especially those from decades past. Manual verification is slow and prone to errors, while forged certificates remain a persistent problem for employers and educational institutions locally and internationally.

By leveraging Avalanche's subnet technology, the KNEC expects to create a tamper-proof, publicly verifiable ledger of academic achievements. This would allow employers, universities, and other authorized parties to instantly confirm a certificate's authenticity without relying on slow bureaucratic processes.
