Avalanche Brings Kenya's Academic Records On-Chain
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has launched a nationwide e-certification platform on the Avalanche blockchain, putting over 30 million academic records on-chain. This deployment adds to the growing number of government-sponsored blockchain projects around the globe.
The platform replaces the time-consuming process of verifying documents manually with instant verification through blockchain records. Employers and universities can now quickly verify credentials without risk of tampering.
This project is part of a larger ecosystem where states are exploring various use cases for blockchain in secure and transparent high-value public records. The KNEC expects the system to expand to support about 35 million certificates, with millions more issued annually.
