Avalanche Powers UAE's National Digital Identity Infrastructure
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has integrated Avalanche blockchain technology into its national digital identity system, UAE PASS. This move will enable users to securely store, request, and share verified government documents through a dedicated Avalanche L1.
According to the announcement made on September 14, 2026, this integration is designed to make document verification easier while reducing the need for manual checks. The system will run on a dedicated Avalanche L1, giving the government greater control over network access and configuration.
The UAE PASS digital vault will utilize Avalanche's blockchain technology to verify the authenticity of documents such as trade licenses and academic certificates. This is seen as one of the largest real-world nation-state use cases for public blockchain infrastructure to date, according to Avalanche.
The integration of Avalanche into UAE PASS has already had a significant impact on the market, with the price of $AVAX jumping over 3% to around $7.48. Trading volume also increased by roughly 14% to $249 million.
