Avalanche Secures Key Role in Upgrading UAE National Identity Platform
Avalanche has secured a key role in upgrading the UAE's national identity platform, UAEPASS. The partnership will see Avalanche become the underlying blockchain infrastructure for the UAEPASS Digital Vault, which serves over 12.5 million users.
The Digital Vault uses cryptographic records to verify documents without storing their contents directly onchain. This setup allows for efficient and secure document verification without compromising user data.
Ava Labs will provide the necessary infrastructure and technical support for the upgrade. Deca4, a blockchain implementation company, will lead the local implementation in coordination with the UAE's TDRA (Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority).
John Nahas, chief business officer at Ava Labs, noted that digital identity systems must remain reliable while operating at real-world scale. The partnership demonstrates how Avalanche can support systems used daily by millions of people.
