Avalanche Tech Powers UAE National ID System
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has integrated Avalanche technology into its national ID system, UAE PASS. The move aims to enhance the security and efficiency of identity verification for citizens, residents, and tourists.
According to a recent announcement, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority will use Avalanche's blockchain protocol as the infrastructure for the digital storage of the government platform. This means that data related to identities and transactions will be stored on a decentralized ledger, ensuring security and transparency.
The UAE PASS system has been in operation since 2018 and serves over 12 million users, supporting more than 15,000 services from 350 providers. The integration of Avalanche technology is expected to strengthen the platform's capabilities and provide a secure way for individuals to verify their identity and access various government and private services.
Following the announcement, the price of AVAX tokens rose by 1% in a single day, reaching $7.5 after increasing by 2.5% over the past 24 hours. The UAE's adoption of Avalanche technology has been met with enthusiasm from investors and crypto enthusiasts, who see it as a significant step towards mainstreaming blockchain technology.
