Avici Security Breach Results in $670K Loss as AVICI Token Plummets
A new security incident has been reported in the Solana ecosystem, affecting Avici, a next-generation banking platform. According to on-chain data, an attacker used $190 in initial capital to steal approximately $670,000 worth of assets from user accounts.
The attack was carried out using a security vulnerability in Avici's smart contracts, allowing the attacker to gain control over 1,100 collateral accounts. The attacker then withdrew funds from these accounts, with the median amount stolen per account being around $24.
On-chain analysis revealed that the attack began at around 16:49 UTC and continued for thousands of transactions, with the attacker's wallet processing over 8,857 transactions. The incident resulted in a significant price drop for the AVICI token, with its value decreasing by over 45% following the security breach.
