Avici Users Lose Over $1 Million in Live Solana Neobank Attack
An attacker has drained over $1 million from Avici users through a Solana neobank live attack, leaving many without access to their funds.
The wallet behind the attack held 10,005 SOL at press time and was still taking funds, with an additional $11,600 in USDC and USDT. The attacker went through the authorization layer of Avici's self-custodial system, calling an instruction that registers a new administrator on a user's collateral account and then withdrawing the balance.
Avici acknowledged the issue nearly two hours after the first drain transaction, saying it was 'working directly with all relevant partners to resolve it.' The company has not disclosed how many accounts are affected or whether users will be made whole.
