BabyDoge Acquires LimeWire, Pivoting to Creator Ownership and Decentralized Storage
BabyDoge has acquired LimeWire, a brand that once defined the peer-to-peer file-sharing era.
The acquisition was announced on September 14, but financial terms were not disclosed.
LimeWire's founders, Julian and Paul Zehetmayr, who rebuilt the platform over five years, have stepped aside, with Abel Czupor taking over as leader.
Czupor plans to pivot LimeWire towards creator ownership, decentralized storage, and AI-powered content tools, aiming to give artists more control over their work and data.
