BabyDoge Acquires LimeWire to Focus on Creator Ownership
BabyDoge has acquired LimeWire under undisclosed terms, with Abel Czupor taking over leadership from Julian and Paul Zehetmayr.
LimeWire plans to focus on creator ownership, decentralized storage, and AI-powered content tools under its new leadership.
The acquisition will not replace LMWR with BabyDoge's own token; instead, LMWR will continue to power services within the LimeWire ecosystem, including payments for decentralized file storage and access to AI tools.
Czupor criticized the control large technology and streaming companies hold over creators' work and data, arguing that artists, musicians, writers, and researchers should have more control over how their content is used.
