Swiss cantonal bank BancaStato has launched a regulation-based cryptocurrency trading service on its existing web and mobile banking app. The new service allows customers to buy, sell, and store four cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, and Solana.

The integration of Signum's trading and custody service with the Avaloq banking system enables customers to trade cryptocurrencies through their existing digital banking channels. This reduces operational complexity and eliminates the need for a separate order management system.

BancaStato is the first bank using the Avaloq software-as-a-service platform to support buying, holding, and selling cryptocurrencies on its digital banking platform via Signum's API. The service is available to more than 25 financial institutions that are part of Signum's B2B banking platform.
