Bank Leumi, Israel's largest bank, is set to introduce cryptocurrency trading for its customers in early 2027. The service will allow users of Leumi and PEPPER, its mobile banking arm, to buy, hold, and sell Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana through the Leumi Trade app.

The move marks a significant shift towards mainstream adoption of digital assets, with Bank Leumi treating selected tokens as another category of investable assets. The bank has partnered with Galaxy Digital to provide institutional trading infrastructure through its GalaxyOne Institutional platform.

Galaxy will also supply custody technology to support the service, allowing Bank Leumi to add digital asset trading without building the entire system internally. This model could become increasingly important as banks assess whether to offer crypto products themselves.
