Bank Leumi is set to launch cryptocurrency trading services for its customers in early 2027, marking Israel's first banking institution to offer such a service. The bank will allow customers to buy, hold, and sell Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and Solana (SOL) through its existing Leumi Trade capital-markets app.

The trading service will be powered by Galaxy Digital's GalaxyOne Institutional platform, which provides institutional-grade execution. Galaxy Digital will also handle custody through its infrastructure formerly known as GK8, ensuring the secure storage of customer assets.

Bank Leumi's decision to offer cryptocurrency trading is a significant move in the Israeli banking sector, putting pressure on competitors to follow suit or risk being left behind.
