Bank of America Boosts Crypto ETF Holdings Amid Institutional Adoption
Bank of America (BofA) has made significant moves in its investment portfolio by increasing its holdings in various cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs). In Q2 2026, BofA's exposure to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP ETFs reached almost $94 million. The bank raised its holdings in the BlackRock Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) by 77%, now holding over 1.72 million shares.
BofA also increased its investments in other crypto ETFs, including Bitwise's BITB, Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini ETF, and FBTC. Additionally, it holds exposure to GBTC, VanEck's HODL, and Direxion Daily Bitcoin Bull 2X ETF (BTCU).
In terms of Ethereum, BofA expanded its BlackRock Ethereum ETF (ETHA) exposure by a staggering 2,838%, now holding 1.98 million shares.
The bank also trimmed its holdings in Strategy (MSTR) stock, reducing its MSTR stock holdings by 70% to almost $102 million. Furthermore, it sold all 85,508 shares in Trump family's American Bitcoin Corp (ABTC), while increasing Bitmine Immersion (BMNR) stock holdings by 78%.
