Bank of Montreal Integrates XRP Exposure via Regulated ETFs
Bank of Montreal (BMO), Canada's second-largest bank, has disclosed its holdings in XRP-linked exchange-traded funds (ETFs) within its $303 billion portfolio as of June 30, 2026. The bank holds shares in the Rex Osprey XRP ETF and ProShares Ultra XRP ETF, which allow it to gain cryptocurrency exposure without directly owning or holding XRP tokens.
This development marks a significant shift towards institutional interest in regulated crypto investment products, with BMO's filings indicating that ownership of XRP funds is transitioning from large early investors to midsize asset managers and family offices. National Bank of Canada also reported XRP exposure through its holdings in the Bitwise XRP ETF.
