BankChain Alliance Aims to Launch Industry-Owned Blockchain Network in 2027
A coalition of 39 U.S. state banking associations has formed the BankChain Alliance to develop an industry-owned blockchain network for banks.
The proposed network, which is targeting a 2027 launch, aims to support tokenized deposits, stablecoins, programmable payments, and automated financial settlement services.
The participating associations represent thousands of institutions across 39 states, but no individual bank has publicly committed to ownership in the alliance.
