Bankman-Fried Funds Left-Wing Think Tank with Six-Hundred Thousand Dollar Gift

Notorious crypto fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) donated $610,000 to David Lawrence, founder of Labour for the Long Term (LLT), a left-wing UK think tank. This was in June 2022, one month before LLT donated £30,000 ($40,300) to Wes Streeting, the Labour Defence Secretary.

Streeting used these funds to pay for policy advisor Dr. Thomas Gardiner. A year later, LLT would donate another £7,000 ($9,400) to Streeting. Lawrence created his think tank's website on June 20 and it was only 10 days later that Bankman-Fried gave the money to Lawrence.

Lawrence reportedly claims the gift was donated to UK charities, but the Telegraph found this claim to be false. It also discovered that a city investor who donated to Streeting in February 2023 did not start their donations around the time of the £30,000 donation in 2022.
