Banks Enter Stablecoin Race with Joint U.S. Dollar-Pegged Token
Major financial institutions are planning to issue a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin in collaboration, marking a significant development in the cryptocurrency space.
The joint venture aims to launch by the first half of 2027 and includes Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Citi, Wells Fargo, and UBS among its participants.
Additionally, a euro-linked stablecoin is also being considered as part of this initiative.
This move could accelerate institutional crypto adoption and strengthen demand for blockchain-based payments, making bank-backed stablecoins a potential catalyst in the crypto market.
