Banks Test Post-Quantum Digital Asset Transfers on NEAR

The Responsible Fintech Institute has launched a quantum-safe crypto pilot on the NEAR testnet, in partnership with Safeheron. The pilot involves Bison Bank and DK Bank testing wallet generation and on-chain transfers through a shared application environment.

The initiative aims to assess post-quantum cryptography, operational resilience, governance, and cross-border interoperability before quantum computing creates practical risks for existing financial systems.

The pilot uses a multi-party computation protocol supporting ML-DSA-65 signatures for transaction security. This allows multiple parties to sign transactions without reconstructing a complete private key in one location.
