Bannon and Epshteyn Face Class Action Lawsuit Over Defunct 'Patriot Pay' Crypto

Share

A proposed class action lawsuit has been filed against Steve Bannon and Boris Epshteyn in Washington, D.C. federal court.

The suit accuses the pair of defrauding retail investors through a politically branded cryptocurrency token called Patriot Pay.

Barr's complaint alleges that Bannon and Epshteyn secretly acquired control of the project in 2021 from its original creator, using transaction fees from retail investors to finance the takeover.

The defendants publicly presented themselves as mere 'supporters' and 'advocates' of the project, despite holding insider authority over the token's smart contract, fee routing, and key wallets.
