Barhydt Forecasts AI-Crypto Convergence, Sees Bitcoin As Future Collateral
Abra CEO Bill Barhydt believes that artificial intelligence (AI) capability will only continue to compound forward, with crypto serving as an orchestration layer for global-scale AI operations. According to him, AI models become smarter every six months, and the real superintelligence is expected within the next four years.
Barhydt argues that Bitcoin's most important role is not as an investment but as collateral, citing its potential to displace Treasury bonds. He notes that using Bitcoin as collateral has finally become a solved problem, with its price currently trading at around $76,580.59.
In the context of AI and crypto, Barhydt sees a future where Bitcoin resets to $85,000 from current levels, unwinds leverage back to the low $70,000, and then begins a 'methodical march' to $100,000. He attributes the recent market move to Treasury policy rather than sentiment, pointing out that Treasury Secretary Scott Besant is working to flatten the yield curve by funding long-end buybacks with short-term debt.
