Barhydt Foresees Bitcoin as Future AI Collateral
Abra CEO Bill Barhydt believes that artificial intelligence (AI) will only continue to improve, and that Bitcoin's role in the future is not as an investment but rather as collateral. In an interview, Barhydt stated that AI capability compounds forward and that crypto will be 'dragged along' as the orchestration layer for AI at a global scale.
According to Barhydt, AI models get smarter every six months, and real artificial superintelligence is expected in the next 4 years. He also predicted that once Bitcoin becomes trust-chain fungible, agents will prefer an asset that won't lose value due to monetary debasement.
Barhydt argued that using Bitcoin as collateral was finally becoming a solved problem and that it should eventually displace Treasury bonds as the market's pristine collateral. He attributed the recent price drop in BTC to Treasury policy rather than sentiment, citing the dollar index down about 2% over the previous fortnight.
