An attacker on the Base network attempted to drain approximately $500,000 from a victim's wallet. The attack was successful, but the attacker's subsequent token swap had insufficient slippage protection and was exploited by an MEV bot.

The MEV bot sandwiched the attacker's trade, significantly reducing their proceeds. As a result, the attacker reportedly received only about $129,000 in WETH, rather than the full value of the stolen funds.
