BBBY Stock Rises on Hiring of Senior Finance Executive Jill Windrum
Bed Bath & Beyond's (BBBY) shares rose 2.7% on Thursday after announcing Jill Windrum as its new Chief Accounting Officer and Deputy CFO.
Windrum, who brings over 25 years of experience in accounting and financial leadership to the role, comes from Maxar Technologies where she held senior CFO positions, including leading the company's U.S. Government division and managing its Earth Intelligence business unit.
In her new position at Beyond Inc., Windrum will oversee the organization's accounting functions and external financial reporting initiatives, as well as collaborate across departments on financial strategy, internal controls, and operational efficiency enhancements.
The appointment is significant given BBBY's recent quarterly loss of $0.53 per share, which fell short of analyst expectations by $0.23.
