South Korean card company BC Card has successfully completed a proof of concept (PoC) for stablecoin payments, marking a significant milestone in integrating digital assets with traditional payment systems.

The three-month pilot, conducted in collaboration with Coinbase and Wavebridge, tested the feasibility of linking overseas digital-asset wallets with South Korea's card payment network.

Foreign visitors could use USDC, a USD-pegged stablecoin held in Coinbase's Base wallet, to make payments at participating BC QR merchants without the need for traditional currency exchange processes.
