BCH Whales Load Up on Shorts as Price Plunges

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) experienced a significant decline of around 10% over the past day, with whale-sized orders dominating activity across its Spot and perpetual markets.

A closer analysis revealed that these large orders were mostly sell positions, as indicated by the Bitcoin Cash Open Interest Weighted Funding Rate becoming extremely negative at -0.0244%. This suggests that a majority of positions in the BCH perpetual market are from sellers, with around $356 million worth of capital involved.

However, in the spot market, there was evidence of active buying, as seen in the Spot Netflow Analysis, which showed a negative net flow of approximately -$3.45 million over the past 24 hours. This implies that traders are moving BCH from centralized exchanges to private wallets, often associated with long-term purchases.

The Liquidation Heatmap also indicated a concentration of liquidation liquidity below BCH's current price, specifically around $208, which could attract price during volatile moves.
