BDACS, ZEKTO, LK Ventures Unite to Launch KRW1 Stablecoin Payments Pilot
BDACS, a digital-asset custody company, has partnered with ZEKTO and LK Ventures to launch a pilot project using KRW1, a won-denominated stablecoin. The project aims to integrate real-time payments between digital assets and traditional finance through Life4Cuts' offline payment infrastructure.
The partnership will apply KRW1 to in-store payment systems at Life4Cuts' 1,000 self-photo booth stores in 30 countries. This collaboration is expected to enhance the payment experience for foreign tourists visiting South Korean stores and eventually expand the service to overseas locations.
BDACS CEO Ryu Hong-yeol stated that Life4Cuts is an ideal venue to demonstrate a real-world payment use case for KRW1, while ZEKTO's CEO Lee Yu-jin emphasized the importance of stability and reliability in building a next-generation Web3 payments infrastructure. LK Ventures' CEO Lee Ho-ik added that introducing digital-asset payment infrastructure at Life4Cuts would lower payment barriers for foreign customers.
The pilot project will enable real-time payments using KRW1, which is issued against the Korean won and designed to serve as a compliance-focused stablecoin. The collaboration aims to reshape the offline payments ecosystem with stablecoin infrastructure and lead the global on-chain expansion of the Korean won.
