Bear Market Bites: Blockchain Revenue Slumps 57% as Solana Stands Alone
The crypto market has been struggling to regain its footing after a brutal bear market, and now it seems that blockchain revenue is also taking a hit. According to Blockworks, the sector earned just $141.90 million in July, its second-weakest month since January 2023, and slightly above March's $141.76 million.
This marks a significant decline from the same period last year, with July 2025 earning $333.65 million. The year-on-year comparison makes it clear that the sector has shed more than half its revenue within twelve months.
The decline in blockchain revenue is notable because median transaction fees have also fallen during this time, which would normally encourage users to return to on-chain transactions. However, the lack of growth suggests that the bearishness has run deep, mirroring the market's struggles in 2022.
One chain stands out from the rest: Solana, whose revenue grew by 28.4% during this period, while Ethereum saw a decline of 39.1%. Hyperliquid and Tron also recorded declines, but at a slower pace than the overall sector.
