Bears Hold Firm on Cardano Amid Mixed Signals and Accumulation
Cardano's (ADA) price continued to slide on Friday, trading below $0.168 after being rejected at the 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA). This rejection has led to a bearish trend in the market, with sellers maintaining control.
The derivatives market is sending mixed signals, with a long-to-short ratio of 1.07 indicating a modest bullish bias among leveraged traders. However, negative funding rates have turned up, signaling increased bearish sentiment and expectations of further downside.
Larger investors, known as 'whales', have been accumulating ADA, with approximately 120 million ADA being accumulated since Monday by wallets holding between 1 million to 10 million ADA and 10 million to 100 million ADA. This selective accumulation may indicate confidence in Cardano's longer-term outlook, but the buying has not yet triggered a broader shift in market sentiment.
From a technical standpoint, ADA remains below major moving averages, including the 50-day EMA ($0.176), the 100-day EMA ($0.202), and the 200-day EMA ($0.267). The inability to reclaim these levels suggests sellers remain in control of the medium-term trend.
