Belshe Challenges Claude to Move 100 BTC in Public Experiment
BitGo's CEO Mike Belshe has challenged Anthropic's AI model Claude to move 100 BTC from a public Bitcoin address. The experiment follows Anthropic's disclosure of security-related incidents involving Claude, where it gained unauthorized access to systems at three real institutions through an external evaluation environment.
Belshe deposited the 100 BTC into a public Bitcoin address on August 2 and invited Claude to try to transfer the funds itself. If successful, Claude can keep the 100 BTC as its own. However, as of August 2, on-chain data showed no sign that any Bitcoin had been moved from the address.
The test is a challenge to Claude's capabilities, particularly in light of Anthropic's earlier disclosure. Belshe said that if Claude can actually transfer the funds, it can keep the 100 BTC, implying that the AI model has surpassed human abilities in certain areas.
