Bernstein Predicts Bitcoin will Hit $150K by Mid-2027 Amid Rising Sovereign Debt
Bernstein's latest forecast has revived the Bitcoin bull case, predicting that BTC will reach around USD 150,000 by mid-2027 and approximately USD 300,000 at the peak of the next market cycle in 2029.
The research firm argues that rising sovereign debt and currency debasement could become increasingly important drivers of Bitcoin demand. Bernstein points to the 40-year period of declining interest rates ending, with US sovereign debt reaching USD 40 trillion, increasing the cost of servicing federal obligations.
The analysts believe governments may eventually respond to persistent fiscal pressure through policies that weaken the purchasing power of currencies, creating a self-reinforcing cycle of higher interest expenses, larger fiscal deficits, and increased borrowing needs. Bitcoin's fixed maximum supply of 21 million coins strengthens its scarcity-based investment case.
