Bernstein's $300,000 Bitcoin Forecast Hinges on Quantum Security

An investment bank called Bernstein has released a report that forecasts Bitcoin's price to rise to $150,000 by mid-2027 and $300,000 by 2029.

The report attributes this potential growth to a sovereign debt crisis and increasing institutional demand for the asset.

However, Charles Edwards, founder of Capriole Investments, believes that these predictions are only possible if Bitcoin Core developers implement quantum-resistant cryptography in time.

Edwards estimates that fear of the threat is already artificially depressing the current price of Bitcoin by 30%, creating a 'risk discount'.
