Bessent Urges Senate Vote on Clarity Act Before Recess
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has urged the Senate to vote on the CLARITY Act before their recess next week.
In an X post, he accused Senate Democrats of being afraid to advance the bill due to fears about Senator Elizabeth Warren and her 'anti-crypto army.'
Bessent warned that if America doesn't pass a comprehensive crypto bill, it could lose its leadership in the global industry, citing Satoshi Nakamoto's famous saying, 'If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.'
The Treasury Secretary also pushed back on criticisms of the BRCA provision in the CLARITY Act, which some argue makes it harder for law enforcement to crack down on illicit finance.
