Beth Predicts $800 Billion Metaverse Market as I/O Fund Holds Large Bitcoin Allocation
Beth from the I/O Fund was interviewed by Clay Finck of the Millennial Investing Podcast about her investing strategy and views on various topics, including the Metaverse and Bitcoin.
Beth emphasized that real revenue growth among young or growing companies is often buried in other revenue segments, making it difficult to track growth in emerging trends. She explained that companies who have been working at something for years and now serendipitously found their market are usually the ones that find long-term success.
Beth also discussed her views on Tech investing, noting that Tech gets beaten up with 40-60% drawdowns per year, similar to venture capitalists, who must wait five to seven years for an exit. She cited Nvidia as an example of a company with a long-term trajectory and no intention of exiting positions.
Beth estimated the Metaverse market to become an $800 billion market, driven by movies and gaming integrating themselves with augmented reality. However, she warned that people who don't like high beta or have a short time horizon should be wary of the Metaverse as it will take years to see gains here.
Beth stated that the I/O Fund rarely closes long-term conviction stocks unless the fundamental story has changed and their exits are driven by technicals. She also emphasized that the Fed's policies do not affect the I/O Fund's strategy, but they do maintain a policy of flexibility to address different scenarios.
Beth remains bullish on Bitcoin, believing it could reach six figures, and the I/O Fund holds a large allocation in Bitcoin.
