Bhutan Transfers 400 BTC to Unlabeled Address, Leaving Remaining Holdings at 518

The Royal Government of Bhutan has transferred approximately 400 BTC to an unidentified external address, leaving its remaining on-chain holdings at around 518 BTC. This move is part of a larger trend in which the country's sovereign wealth fund, Druk Holding and Investments, has been steadily routing Bitcoin to various counterparties throughout 2026.

The most recent transfer is notable for going to an unlabeled address, making it difficult to infer intent behind the move. When coins are sent to named exchanges, analysts can at least understand the purpose of the transfer. The lack of transparency surrounding this particular move has sparked speculation in the market.

Bhutan's Bitcoin holdings have seen a dramatic decline since their peak in October 2024, when they reached around 13,000 BTC. Today's 518 BTC represents a reduction of roughly 96% from that high-water mark.
