Bhutan's Sovereign Bitcoin Holdings Continue to Shrink Amid Development Project Funding

The Royal Government of Bhutan has sold another batch of Bitcoin worth approximately $27.93 million, bringing its remaining holdings to between 3,000 and 4,000 BTC.

This latest transfer marks the end of a month-long pause in outflows and continues the kingdom's pattern of measured liquidation through over-the-counter channels.

Bhutan built its Bitcoin stash through state-run mining operations powered by its abundant hydroelectric resources, but these sales are not funding new mining efforts.

The proceeds from these sales are reportedly funding development projects, including the ambitious Gelephu Mindfulness City.
