Big Whales Snapping Up Altcoins as Market Continues to Rise
High-volume investors in the cryptocurrency and financial markets have been making waves recently. Three large investors, tracked by on-chain data and market monitoring platforms, have taken multi-million dollar positions in Ethereum ($ETH), Solana ($SOL), Hyperliquid's native token $HYPE, and CXMT.
The first whale made a significant profit by opening a long position in Ethereum during the early stages of the current cryptocurrency rally. The investor opened a long position of 20,000 $ETH when the price was around $1,936, which grew to approximately $50 million. This resulted in an unrealized profit of over $11 million.
After selling Ethereum, this whale turned its attention to Solana and took on a high-leverage long position using 20x leverage. The entry price for this new trade was approximately $104.5, with a total position size of $10.45 million.
The second largest whale made aggressive purchases of Hyperliquid's native token, $HYPE. This investor had previously purchased $24 million worth of $HYPE tokens in June when the price was around $68.7. Over the past 24 hours, a total of 36 million USDC has been deposited into the Hyperliquid platform via 12 different addresses believed to be linked to this investor.
The average cost of these purchases was approximately $65.6, while the unrealized profit is reported to be around $74.4 million. This brings the total amount of $HYPE purchased and staked by whales or institutions up to 4.67 million tokens, with a current value of approximately $381 million.
