Binance Accused of Sharing Donor's Data with Russian Authorities
Yuri Belenky, IT director of DiHouse, was detained in September 2025 at Sheremetyevo Airport on charges of hooliganism. The charge later changed to financing terrorism due to transfers in support of the Ukrainian military.
According to Reuters, Binance provided Russian authorities with Belenky's personal data and transaction history. This information was used as evidence in a case involving terrorism financing over donations in support of Ukraine.
Lawyers argued that Binance may not have had to share the client's data since it had exited Russia by then. However, the exchange claimed they cooperate with law enforcement agencies worldwide in response to lawful requests.
