Binance Accused of Sharing User Data with Russia Amid Ongoing Crypto Crackdown
Binance has been accused of sharing user data with Russian authorities.
The exchange reportedly handed over personal and transaction information for Yuri Belenkiy, a 49-year-old IT specialist who had sent over $700 in cryptocurrency to fundraisers supporting Ukraine.
Belenkiy was arrested in September 2025 in Russia and is currently awaiting trial on charges of financing terrorism.
The exchange claims to cooperate with legal requests from authorities, but the incident has raised questions about data protection and the potential for user information to be shared with governments.
